2012 Hyundai Elantra named 2012 North American Car of the Year

It's official: the 2012 Hyundai Elantra has been
named the 2012 North American Car of the Year! The winner was
announced today at a news conference at the 2012 North American
International Auto Show in Detroit. This is the second North
American Car of the Year award for Hyundai! The 2012 Hyundai Elantra
stood out against its final competitors, the Volkswagon Passat and
the Ford Focus. With it's sleek new fluidic sculpture design and
its fuel efficient gas economy rating of 40 mpg on the highway,
it's no wonder that the 2012 Hyundai Elantra tops them all.

This award, which is known as the most prestigious
award given to a car or truck throughout the year, isn't the first
time that Hyundai has garnered such a high position with a new
vehicle model. In 2009, the then all-new 2009 Hyundai Genesis took
home the prestigious award, making that award Hyundai's first North
American Car of the Year Award. The North American Car of the Year
award is determined by fifty independent North American automotive
journalists who evaluated each of the new cars that were introduced
last year. For more information about specs and pricing of the 2012

Hyundai Veloster Goes Full Throttle

Hyundai's 2012 Veloster made a grand entrance into the car
market at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, with a look akin to what a
superhero might be inclined to drive and the technology to match.
Interestingly, Hyundai North America's CEO, John Krafcik doesn't
even attempt to make claims that the unconventional three-door will
be the quickest to make it to 60 mph, though it certainly looks
like it could. He leaves such claims for models such as the Genesis
Coupe, and instead promises giddy performance from its 1.6-liter
engine with 138-horsepower (at 6,300 rpm) and 123 lb.-ft. torque,
and 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 2012 Hyundai Veloster gets
some of its aggressive good looks from a longer-than-expected
wheelbase made possible by its third front-hinged door on the
rear-passenger side. However, it's sleek, slightly retro frame,
doesn't compromise on head and leg room for front or back seat
drivers. And, tech-savvy types would be too distracted to notice
otherwise, with full attention paid to the Blue Link system.
Standard in the 2012 Veloster, Blue Link is Hyundai's new
telematics system that integrates everything from service schedule
alerts to restaurant ratings, turn-by-turn navigation guidance,
remote start, and stolen vehicle slowdown. Even the seven-inch
touchscreen is a standard fit. More advanced features will be made
available via a three-tier subscription service. And, a
full-featured navigation system is optional.

Hyundai Accent: Still Priced Under 10K

Cars available for under $10,000 are going the way of
dinosaurs. You don't even have to have been on a car lot recently
to know that. There are however, an elusive few that have managed
to survive the double-edged blow of inflating costs of living and
the depreciating dollar. The Hyundai Accent, for example, is the
perfect penny-pinching option for drivers who don't require
extraneous luxury. While it's more bare-bones than many other cars
in the Hyundai lineup, the Accent offers zero-compromise on quality
and serves the purpose of getting drivers safely from Point A to
Point B. It's not a condo on wheels, it's not luxurious...It's a
good car at an even better price, plain and simple. That good price,
however, might not stay as good as it is now, for very much longer.
It is expected to go above 10 grand sometime within the 2012 model
year... possibly even with the launch. So, if you're a
no-bells-and-whistles kind of spendthrift driver, you'll definitely
want to jump soon.2011 Hyundai Accent At a Glance- 4 Trims

Hyundai Makes More Models with 40 MPG Highway than Any Other Automaker

If the unfortunate onward and upward trend of rising gas
prices is starting to hit you where it hurts, namely your wallet,
you're not alone. Thankfully Hyundai had the foresight to develop
four different models - all boasting 40 mpg on the highway. In no
particular order, they are the:- Sonata Hybrid- Elantra- Accent-
Veloster (available later this year)"Sonata Hybrid, Elantra,
Veloster, and Accent are tapping into a newfound customer demand
for high-content, fuel-efficient cars," says Mike O-Brien, VP
Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "These
vehicles achieve 40 mpg highway without any additional cost of
sacrificing content for a high fuel-economy package, making them
more attractive to general car buyers."1Given you're understandable
frustration; you might be thinking... Only four! Every automaker
should make at least four cars that get 40 mpg/highway or better.
We don't disagree. They absolutely should. But, truth be told,
there isn't a single automaker worldwide that offers as many 40
mpg/highway models as does Hyundai - no asterisk necessary. And,
while there may only be four now. We'll soon see our fifth, sixth,
so on and so forth. In fact, one new Hyundai model slated to hit
showroom floors within the next few years gets even better than 40
mpg/highway. But, such additions really are mere steps toward
Hyundai's ultimate goal: to achieve an EPA fleet average of 50 mpg
by the year 2025.Interested in learning more about one of Hyundai's
four 40-mpg-highway models? Contact Dealer Name at Dealer Phone #

happy to share complete specs, compare models, and arrange for test

Hyundai Sonata Earns Highest Total Value Index Score

Strategic Vision has global experience developing tools to
measure decision-making, human behavior, attitudes, and
perceptions. Now, in its 14th year as the automotive industry's
most comprehensive "value study", the organization has announced
the leaders of its Total Value Index for 2010. The 2011 Hyundai
Sonata earned the highest Total Value Index in the history of the
study - in all segments, including luxury. "Typically we do not
include 'early-next-calendar-year' launch models in our current
calendar year studies, but in the case of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata,
its performance was so outstanding, we created a new "Special Total
Value Award" just to recognize a truly superior value
accomplishment," says Darrel Edwards, Ph.D., Founder and Chairman,
Strategic Vision.1Strategic Vision's praise for the Hyundai Sonata
doesn't end there. Even under the closest scrutiny, the new Sonata
is undeniably a winner. "When the data came back on the 2011
Hyundai Sonata, it was so impressive it prompted us to re-examine
it several times to be certain," says Alexander Edwards, President,
Strategic Vision. "The findings were solid with particular
superiority among owners ranking Value for Money, Technical
Innovation, Standard Equipment, Fuel Economy and a great Warranty
all wrapped in a vehicle with eye-catching styling."2It would be
enough if Hyundai beat out all other competitors with the Sonata's
score and pushed Strategic Vision to create a unique award. But,
the Korean automaker was successful with its 2010 models as well.
Within the Near-Luxury Car segment, the Hyundai Genesis earned the
second highest score. With 852 points, it beat out segment leaders
such as the Mercedes-Benz GLK and Audi A8.

Hyundai Steals the Spotlight at the Academy Awards

While hundreds of veteran actors and today's shining starlets
graced the infamous Red Carpet at this year's Academy Awards, there
was only one automaker in the spotlight during the event -
none-other than Hyundai. The model that really stole the spotlight
was the Elantra winner of the ALG Residual Value Awards and
iSeeCars' Top Small Sedan 2011 designation. It should also be noted
that this isn't the first time Hyundai has dominated the Academy
Awards. This actually marks the Korean automaker's
third-consecutive year as the event's exclusive automotive sponsor.
Befittingly, the Elantra was featured in one of this year's ads,
wearing Red Allure. And no, the Japanese automaker did not call up
Sandra Bullock or Jennifer Lawrence to see what they'd be wearing
first. In total, nine Hyundai advertisements aired before and during
the 83rd Academy Awards. All available to watch on YouTube, they
are:'Drawing Board' (mentioned above), featuring the
Elantra'Childhood', featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Deprogramming',
featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Greatest Luxury', featuring the
Hyundai Genesis'Good Things Come in Threes', highlighting Hyundai's
powertrains'Comfy Home', featuring the Hyundai Equus'Family',
featuring the Sonata'Anachronostic City', featuring the Hyundai
Sonata Hybrid'iPad', highlighting the Hyundai Equus' application of
the iPad as the car's user manualIf you would like to learn more
about any of Hyundai's above, please visit World Hyundai Matteson.
We'd be happy to share their specs and set up a test drive.

Hyundai Blue Link Anti-Theft

Hyundai announced a their "telematics service" called Blue
Link. It offers emergency assistance, vehicle location sharing to
select family and friends, and even a Foursquare-type location
service through Facebook. The system can share the car's location
on an owner's Facebook page.Hyundai did not provide complete
operational details, though Blue Link appears to include a
smartphone app, in-car hardware component, call center and
integration with the car's navigation system. Blue Link can also
detect airbag deployment and send the car's location to 911
operators. A driver can also contact the call center by pressing a
SOS button. A separate button summons roadside assistance. The
smartphone app lets owners remotely unlock or lock the doors, flash
the lights, and start the car. Blue Link can set speed alerts,
along with a "slow down" if the vehicle is stolen, or immobilize
the engine all together.Hyundai outlines a number of travel
services, such as traffic conditions, turn-by-turn navigation,
restaurant ratings, and gas prices. For gas prices, Hyundai says
the results of a search are read out by an automated voice system,
and a particular gas station address can be sent to the navigation
system.Blue Link will also allow drivers can go through voice
command menus at a call center to find out useful information. Blue
Link launches in 2011 on the Sonata, followed by the all-new
Velostar, and through the entire line-up by 2014. Test drive 2011's

Customer Service Keeps Car Shoppers Coming to World Hyundai
in the Matteson Auto MallBuying a car is a big investment. Add to
it the vast quantity of dealerships in the Chicago area and the
amount of car advertisements bombarding us daily on television, in

won't help the situation. If anything, it sometimes makes the whole
car buying process even more confusing. For Chicago car shoppers,
the answer is simple. Go to World Hyundai! In addition to an
amazing selection and the lowest prices possible, there is one
primary reasons why so many car buyers are heading to the far south

pressure sales out at World Hyundai. Instead, you'll find a car
dealership that will truly work to find you the best possible car

Hyundai Bringing Plug-in EV Soon?

Hyundai CEO John Krafcik proclaimed the car company would
shoot for a 50-mile-per-gallon fleet average by 2025. The automaker
will focus on launching additional hybrids, introducing the BlueOn
electric vehicle and eventually debuting a plug-in hybrid.Hyundai
presented "Blue Will" plug-in hybrid concept at the Seoul Motor
Show back in 2009. The vehicle later made its North American debut
at the Detroit Auto Show in 2010. Since then, there hasn't been
much in the way of plug-in hybrid plans, but now the Korean auto
maker is heading towards green production.PlugIn Cars spoke with
Mike O'Brien, Hyundai's vice president of product planning, at last
week's LA Auto Show. O'Brien focused on discussing vehicles like
the 40-mpg rated 2011 Elantra and Sonata Hybrid, but did state that
the company is "anxious to start talking" about Hyundai's
"Prius-killer" and revealed that the automaker is, "certainly
looking at plug-in hybrids down the road" and will begin talking
about that vehicle "in the near future." The "near future" does not
give us a real specific timeframe, but at least we know the company
remains committed to its plug-in hybrid plans.Check out more from
