2012 Hyundai Elantra named 2012 North American Car of the Year

It's official: the 2012 Hyundai Elantra has been
named the 2012 North American Car of the Year! The winner was
announced today at a news conference at the 2012 North American
International Auto Show in Detroit. This is the second North
American Car of the Year award for Hyundai! The 2012 Hyundai Elantra
stood out against its final competitors, the Volkswagon Passat and
the Ford Focus. With it's sleek new fluidic sculpture design and
its fuel efficient gas economy rating of 40 mpg on the highway,
it's no wonder that the 2012 Hyundai Elantra tops them all.
2012 North American Car of the Year
This award, which is known as the most prestigious
award given to a car or truck throughout the year, isn't the first
time that Hyundai has garnered such a high position with a new
vehicle model. In 2009, the then all-new 2009 Hyundai Genesis took
home the prestigious award, making that award Hyundai's first North
American Car of the Year Award. The North American Car of the Year
award is determined by fifty independent North American automotive
journalists who evaluated each of the new cars that were introduced
last year. For more information about specs and pricing of the 2012

Hyundai Veloster Goes Full Throttle

Hyundai's 2012 Veloster made a grand entrance into the car
market at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, with a look akin to what a
superhero might be inclined to drive and the technology to match.
Interestingly, Hyundai North America's CEO, John Krafcik doesn't
even attempt to make claims that the unconventional three-door will
be the quickest to make it to 60 mph, though it certainly looks
like it could. He leaves such claims for models such as the Genesis
Coupe, and instead promises giddy performance from its 1.6-liter
engine with 138-horsepower (at 6,300 rpm) and 123 lb.-ft. torque,
and 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 2012 Hyundai Veloster gets
some of its aggressive good looks from a longer-than-expected
wheelbase made possible by its third front-hinged door on the
rear-passenger side. However, it's sleek, slightly retro frame,
doesn't compromise on head and leg room for front or back seat
drivers. And, tech-savvy types would be too distracted to notice
otherwise, with full attention paid to the Blue Link system.
Standard in the 2012 Veloster, Blue Link is Hyundai's new
telematics system that integrates everything from service schedule
alerts to restaurant ratings, turn-by-turn navigation guidance,
remote start, and stolen vehicle slowdown. Even the seven-inch
touchscreen is a standard fit. More advanced features will be made
available via a three-tier subscription service. And, a
full-featured navigation system is optional.

Hyundai Accent: Still Priced Under 10K

Cars available for under $10,000 are going the way of
dinosaurs. You don't even have to have been on a car lot recently
to know that. There are however, an elusive few that have managed
to survive the double-edged blow of inflating costs of living and
the depreciating dollar. The Hyundai Accent, for example, is the
perfect penny-pinching option for drivers who don't require
extraneous luxury. While it's more bare-bones than many other cars
in the Hyundai lineup, the Accent offers zero-compromise on quality
and serves the purpose of getting drivers safely from Point A to
Point B. It's not a condo on wheels, it's not luxurious...It's a
good car at an even better price, plain and simple. That good price,
however, might not stay as good as it is now, for very much longer.
It is expected to go above 10 grand sometime within the 2012 model
year... possibly even with the launch. So, if you're a
no-bells-and-whistles kind of spendthrift driver, you'll definitely
want to jump soon.2011 Hyundai Accent At a Glance- 4 Trims

Hyundai Makes More Models with 40 MPG Highway than Any Other Automaker

If the unfortunate onward and upward trend of rising gas
prices is starting to hit you where it hurts, namely your wallet,
you're not alone. Thankfully Hyundai had the foresight to develop
four different models - all boasting 40 mpg on the highway. In no
particular order, they are the:- Sonata Hybrid- Elantra- Accent-
Veloster (available later this year)"Sonata Hybrid, Elantra,
Veloster, and Accent are tapping into a newfound customer demand
for high-content, fuel-efficient cars," says Mike O-Brien, VP
Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "These
vehicles achieve 40 mpg highway without any additional cost of
sacrificing content for a high fuel-economy package, making them
more attractive to general car buyers."1Given you're understandable
frustration; you might be thinking... Only four! Every automaker
should make at least four cars that get 40 mpg/highway or better.
We don't disagree. They absolutely should. But, truth be told,
there isn't a single automaker worldwide that offers as many 40
mpg/highway models as does Hyundai - no asterisk necessary. And,
while there may only be four now. We'll soon see our fifth, sixth,
so on and so forth. In fact, one new Hyundai model slated to hit
showroom floors within the next few years gets even better than 40
mpg/highway. But, such additions really are mere steps toward
Hyundai's ultimate goal: to achieve an EPA fleet average of 50 mpg
by the year 2025.Interested in learning more about one of Hyundai's
four 40-mpg-highway models? Contact Dealer Name at Dealer Phone #

Hyundai Sonata Earns Highest Total Value Index Score

Strategic Vision has global experience developing tools to
measure decision-making, human behavior, attitudes, and
perceptions. Now, in its 14th year as the automotive industry's
most comprehensive "value study", the organization has announced
the leaders of its Total Value Index for 2010. The 2011 Hyundai
Sonata earned the highest Total Value Index in the history of the
study - in all segments, including luxury. "Typically we do not
include 'early-next-calendar-year' launch models in our current
calendar year studies, but in the case of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata,
its performance was so outstanding, we created a new "Special Total
Value Award" just to recognize a truly superior value
accomplishment," says Darrel Edwards, Ph.D., Founder and Chairman,
Strategic Vision.1Strategic Vision's praise for the Hyundai Sonata
doesn't end there. Even under the closest scrutiny, the new Sonata
is undeniably a winner. "When the data came back on the 2011
Hyundai Sonata, it was so impressive it prompted us to re-examine
it several times to be certain," says Alexander Edwards, President,
Strategic Vision. "The findings were solid with particular
superiority among owners ranking Value for Money, Technical
Innovation, Standard Equipment, Fuel Economy and a great Warranty
all wrapped in a vehicle with eye-catching styling."2It would be
enough if Hyundai beat out all other competitors with the Sonata's
score and pushed Strategic Vision to create a unique award. But,
the Korean automaker was successful with its 2010 models as well.
Within the Near-Luxury Car segment, the Hyundai Genesis earned the
second highest score. With 852 points, it beat out segment leaders
such as the Mercedes-Benz GLK and Audi A8.

Hyundai Steals the Spotlight at the Academy Awards

While hundreds of veteran actors and today's shining starlets
graced the infamous Red Carpet at this year's Academy Awards, there
was only one automaker in the spotlight during the event -
none-other than Hyundai. The model that really stole the spotlight
was the Elantra winner of the ALG Residual Value Awards and
iSeeCars' Top Small Sedan 2011 designation. It should also be noted
that this isn't the first time Hyundai has dominated the Academy
Awards. This actually marks the Korean automaker's
third-consecutive year as the event's exclusive automotive sponsor.
Befittingly, the Elantra was featured in one of this year's ads,
wearing Red Allure. And no, the Japanese automaker did not call up
Sandra Bullock or Jennifer Lawrence to see what they'd be wearing
first. In total, nine Hyundai advertisements aired before and during
the 83rd Academy Awards. All available to watch on YouTube, they
are:'Drawing Board' (mentioned above), featuring the
Elantra'Childhood', featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Deprogramming',
featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Greatest Luxury', featuring the
Hyundai Genesis'Good Things Come in Threes', highlighting Hyundai's
powertrains'Comfy Home', featuring the Hyundai Equus'Family',
featuring the Sonata'Anachronostic City', featuring the Hyundai
Sonata Hybrid'iPad', highlighting the Hyundai Equus' application of
the iPad as the car's user manualIf you would like to learn more
about any of Hyundai's above, please visit World Hyundai Matteson.
We'd be happy to share their specs and set up a test drive.

Hyundai Blue Link Anti-Theft

Hyundai announced a their "telematics service" called Blue
Link. It offers emergency assistance, vehicle location sharing to
select family and friends, and even a Foursquare-type location
service through Facebook. The system can share the car's location
on an owner's Facebook page.Hyundai did not provide complete
operational details, though Blue Link appears to include a
smartphone app, in-car hardware component, call center and
integration with the car's navigation system. Blue Link can also
detect airbag deployment and send the car's location to 911
operators. A driver can also contact the call center by pressing a
SOS button. A separate button summons roadside assistance. The
smartphone app lets owners remotely unlock or lock the doors, flash
the lights, and start the car. Blue Link can set speed alerts,
along with a "slow down" if the vehicle is stolen, or immobilize
the engine all together.Hyundai outlines a number of travel
services, such as traffic conditions, turn-by-turn navigation,
restaurant ratings, and gas prices. For gas prices, Hyundai says
the results of a search are read out by an automated voice system,
and a particular gas station address can be sent to the navigation
system.Blue Link will also allow drivers can go through voice
command menus at a call center to find out useful information. Blue
Link launches in 2011 on the Sonata, followed by the all-new
Velostar, and through the entire line-up by 2014. Test drive 2011's
Sonata today at World Hyundai of Matteson.

Great Customer Service Keeps Car Shoppers Coming to World Hyundai

Customer Service Keeps Car Shoppers Coming to World Hyundai
in the Matteson Auto MallBuying a car is a big investment. Add to
it the vast quantity of dealerships in the Chicago area and the
amount of car advertisements bombarding us daily on television, in
the newspaper and on the Internet, and it means car buying can be
stressful. Driving around from dealership to dealership likely
won't help the situation. If anything, it sometimes makes the whole
car buying process even more confusing. For Chicago car shoppers,
the answer is simple. Go to World Hyundai! In addition to an
amazing selection and the lowest prices possible, there is one
primary reasons why so many car buyers are heading to the far south
side of metro Chicago to buy their next car, even though there are
other car dealerships closer - customer service. You won't find high
pressure sales out at World Hyundai. Instead, you'll find a car
dealership that will truly work to find you the best possible car
for you. They're not focused on just making a sale. What keeps
customers come back time and time again is, World Hyundai's
commitment to building relationships with their customers. Their
complete attention to their customer's details and their
exceptional customer service means lots of repeat buyers and
referrals of customers making the drive out to the south side to
World Hyundai, to make their car buying experience less stressful
and more enjoyable.

Hyundai Bringing Plug-in EV Soon?

Hyundai CEO John Krafcik proclaimed the car company would
shoot for a 50-mile-per-gallon fleet average by 2025. The automaker
will focus on launching additional hybrids, introducing the BlueOn
electric vehicle and eventually debuting a plug-in hybrid.Hyundai
presented "Blue Will" plug-in hybrid concept at the Seoul Motor
Show back in 2009. The vehicle later made its North American debut
at the Detroit Auto Show in 2010. Since then, there hasn't been
much in the way of plug-in hybrid plans, but now the Korean auto
maker is heading towards green production.PlugIn Cars spoke with
Mike O'Brien, Hyundai's vice president of product planning, at last
week's LA Auto Show. O'Brien focused on discussing vehicles like
the 40-mpg rated 2011 Elantra and Sonata Hybrid, but did state that
the company is "anxious to start talking" about Hyundai's
"Prius-killer" and revealed that the automaker is, "certainly
looking at plug-in hybrids down the road" and will begin talking
about that vehicle "in the near future." The "near future" does not
give us a real specific timeframe, but at least we know the company
remains committed to its plug-in hybrid plans.Check out more from

2012 Hyundai Elantra named Top Ten Coolest Cars by Kelley Blue Book (KBB)

Once again, Hyundai continues to bring in awards for a
variety of different categories. This time the award goes to the
2011 Hyundai Elantra for being one of the top ten coolest cars
under $18,000 in 2011.The 2011 Hyundai Elantra is the first Elantra
model to feature the fluidic sculpture design that is now
incorporated into most new Hyundai models. The car is compact, yet
roomy enough for a small family. The gas economy on this vehicle is
rated at 40 mpg on the highway, a huge difference over previous
models. And this time around, the Elantra has style. Long gone are
the boxy Elantras of the last decade. This Elantra has been
freshened up inside and out.For more information about the 2011

gifts to all of the children, while parents took advantage of the
amazing World Hyundai prices. Kids and adults alike had a wonderful

see a car dealership go above and beyond for their customers. In
today's automotive marketplace, too many dealerships are just
focused on making a sale. World Hyundai is different. They want to
build a relationship with their customers, not just sell them a
car. Having Santa come and ring in the holidays is just one of the
ways World Hyundai customers get extra special treatment at the
best Hyundai dealership in Chicago.Santa had just as much fun as
the kids! The great turnout of adults and children all got into the

Hyundai Sonata Named "All Star"

Automobile Magazine knows how to pick a winner - and has
named Hyundai's 2011 Sonata sedan among 'the most outstanding cars
of the year.' Sonata, which is built at the Korean automaker's
Montgomery facility, was added to the magazine's annual "All Stars"
list. The updated 2011 sedan was redesigned for the current model
year, and became wildly popular over the second half of 2010. It
has also helped Hyundai set sales and production records for
2010."The critical acclaim and recognition from experts like the
editors of Automobile Magazine is gratifying," John Krafcik, chief
of Hyundai's U.S. operations, said in a prepared statement. "Sonata
is a game-changing car that has surpassed everyone's
expectations."The magazine called the Sonata "an unquestioned
leader in a segment that's bursting with excellent automobiles."It
goes on to say that the mid-size sedan is "a car that sells purely
on its merits rather than on its warranty, and increasing numbers
of savvy Americans are beating a path to Hyundai's door."Through
November, Hyundai sold 180,659 Sonatas in the US, a 65 percent
improvement from the same time period last year.SOURCE

2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited

The fully redesigned Hyundai Sonata is really impressing car
buyers nationwide. Consumer Reports took a closer look at the
Sonata Limited 2.0 trim level, with all its extra features and
power advancements."We were very impressed when we recently tested
a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS," said the consumer website. "That car
stickered for $21,800, typically sells for less. It was pretty
close to the bottom of the Sonata food chain, with just an
automatic and a package including a power driver's seat."If you go
to the other extreme of Sonata, you wind up with a Sonata Limited
and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. This is the most powerful
engine one can have in a Hyundai sedan these days, as the Korean
auto maker no longer offers V6. There is a hybrid powerplant coming
in January. Limited trim "gets you a leather interior, different
suspension settings, bigger wheels and tires, and a fancier
stereo." When leaving out navigation, sticker price comes in at
$28,090.The engine receives a bit of an upgrade over the base
Sonata. Power comes in quickly and easily, but the car doesn't feel
like its shaking its way up to 274 horsepower, in fact the
acceleration is rather smooth. Sonata Limited's V6 is also much
quieter than those under the hoods of the competition. Upgraded
wheels and leather make a "good-looking car even more stylish.""Is
a Sonata priced closer to $30,000 as compelling as a Sonata priced
near $20,000?" Test drive an all new, freshly redesigned Hyundai
Sonata Limited 2.0 and find out for yourself at World Hyundai of
Matteson.SOURCE

Hyundai Sales Up 22 Percent

2010 was a pretty good year over at Hyundai HQ - and it looks
as though 2011 will be even better. Their sales for January of this
year rose nearly 22 percent over the same month in 2010. This is
great news for the Korean auto maker who is receiving big buzz on
American soil.Hyundai's Sonata sedan continues to be their
best-seller - 13,261 vehicle made it off dealership lots and into
the garages and drive ways of Americans this past January - an
increase over the 5,306 sold last year. The all new Elantra also
hit sales figures totaling 9,659 cars, an increase over the 7,690
of the last-generation model sold in 2010.A total of 4,415 Santa Fe
SUVs were sold, while 4,424 Accent compact cars went to buyers this
past January. These numbers, experts speculate, suggest buyers
might be holding out for a new model expected to launch within the
next year. The remainder of the Korean auto maker's lineup saw
increases as well. Tucson sales came in at 2,863 vehicles (up
almost 600 from January 2010), while the Genesis coupe and sedan
accounted for nearly 1,783 vehicles, an increase of 113 cars.
Veracruz sales jumped 178 units to 579 vehicles, while the company
managed to sell 254 of its new Equus flagship in January.Head on
over to World Hyundai Matteson and check out all the Hyundai
models!

Hyundai Keeps Genesis and Equus in the Family

The Hyundai Genesis and Equus will not become part of an
independent premium brand as recent whispering may have suggested.
Hyundai Motor Co. has officially ruled out the possible plan due to
substantial risk of cost and possible damage to sibling nameplates.
"There are no plans for Hyundai to make a separate brand," 1 said
Vice Chairman Shin Jong-Woon, in an interview at the automaker's
South Korean headquarters.Speaking on the dismissal of the idea,
spokesman Frank Ahrens said, "It's expensive. Dealerships,
marketing, all those things. You don't just spin it off at no
cost...Secondly, you've heard us talk a great deal about trying to
raise the brand perception. And that's the perception for all the
vehicles. So how would it help the brands if we were to cut off our
top level? We are hoping they will help lift the whole
brand."2Hyundai has made a slew of noteworthy advances in recent
years, winning many awards and accolades along the way. However
according to Hyundai executives, there is still a big gap between
their vehicles' actual quality and their perceived quality.2011

2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe makes debut at 2012 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place

By now, because of the pre-show buzz, you likely have heard
of the upcoming 2012 Chicago Auto Show that will be taking place in
February, early next year. The biggest reason to go to this
upcoming show in February, especially if you love Hyundai cars, is
to check out the showcasing of Hyundai vehicles at this event. The
new Hyundai Elantra coupe will be introduced at this show for the
very first time. In addition to this, two other Hyundai models will
be making their first-ever debut to the public. No wonder that
World Hyundai at the Matteson Auto Mall is so pumped up for this
upcoming auto show in February. All good auto shows require cool,
new cars making their debut in order to be worth it to go there.
The 2012 Chicago Auto Show certainly is no exception when it comes
to this rule. If you are lucky enough to make it to this event in
the early part of next year, you will be seeing the new Hyundai
Elantra coupe, which is a sweet, new compact Hyundai car that is
going to be competing against models from Honda in the same
car-size market. Before this news, people could only buy a Hyundai
Elantra sedan and not a coupe. The Hyundai Elantra coupe is going
to treat drivers to a sportier feel with unique gearing, not to
mention a sportier trim. When you think about it, it makes an awful
lot of sense for this car company to offer the Elantra in its new
2013 Hyundai Elantra coupe form, because it believes that as much
as 20 percent of the sales from the Elantra model will be from
coupes! Imagine attending this auto show in February and being
among a select few people who are actually seeing this
much-anticipated Hyundai model for the first time! It is because of
unveilings like this that Matteson's World Hyundai is so excited
about this upcoming auto show in the New Year.

Hyundai Elantra Wins Best Interior

Drivers spend a lot of time in the car. As such, the interior
can be just as important as performance. Wards Automotive gets
it.That's why they've just tested over 50 vehicles that were
all-new or featured significantly upgraded interiors to determine
which 2011 model-year vehicles offer the best interiors. Among the
vehicles with award-winning interiors are three luxury cars, a
sport sedan, a minivan, a family sedan, a SUV, and three economy
cars , including the Hyundai Elantra Limited. That's right, the
Hyundai Elantra Limited offers one of the "10 Best Interiors" for
2011! According to Tom Murphy, WardsAuto.com, the Hyundai Elantra
offers, "More evidence that economy cars 'ain't what they used to
be...The Hyundai Elantra Limited delivers enough flair to suggest
the South Korean auto maker is finding its own unique interior
design language."1The "Ward's 10 Best Interiors" awards replace the
"Interior of the Year" competition, which dates back over six years
ago, when Ward's acquired the Auto Interiors Conference. All 2011
winners, including the Hyundai Elantra Limited, will be celebrated
at an honorary ceremony at this year's Auto Interiors Conference

Hyundai Builds World's Safest Cars

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has chosen,
out of 66 vehicles, their top safety picks for 2011. Hyundai was at
the head of this list.Vehicles were chosen after test results from
front, side and rear impacts. To qualify, the insurance group also
required vehicles to have anti-rollover electronic stability
control (ESC) and receive top scores in roof strength testing.
Institute president Adrian Lund credited automakers this year for
"quickly rising to meet the more-challenging criteria for Top
Safety Pick."Hyundai Motors, and its affiliate Kia Motors, received
the most awards with nine total. The awards, used in advertising to
attract car buyers, promote Hyundai as they attempt to build a
larger foothold in the US marketplace.Hyundai's Genesis sedan,
Sonata midsize and Santa Fe and Tucson sport utility vehicles
picked up awards, while Kia was noted for the Optima midsize car,
the Forte and Soul small cars, and the Sorento and Sportage
SUVs.Hyundai said the award was something special for the new
Sonata, which also received score of five stars in the government's
crash test program. The combination put Sonata "in a safety
position unsurpassed in the industry," said John Krafcik, president
and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.Test drive the safest cars on the

America's largest print newspaper, shows that the Sonata received

America in 2010. The factors cited as fueling the Sonata's success

Hyundai to Increase U.S. Engine Production

You might have heard whisperings that Hyundai is planning to
build a second assembly plant in the U.S. Rumors like that tend to
travel fast. Operative word: rumors. In April, Hyundai CFO, Lee
Won-hee, said no such formal plans were in place, but that they
could develop if the market continued to improve. What the Korean
automaker has confirmed are plans to invest $173 million in their
Alabama plant to substantially increasing the production of
four-cylinder engines.Specifically, the expansion will support
Hyundai, in their efforts to expand production at their Alabama
plant to include the Theta four-cylinder engine. Given the Hyundai
Sonata is fitted with this specific engine type and is currently
produced at the facility, the expansion makes perfect sense. In
addition to the Sonata, the Theta four-cylinder engine is also used
in the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorrento. Construction at the
facility is expected to be finished this fall, with additional
four-cylinder engine production will commencing early in
2012.Hyundai's U.S. expansion plans undoubtedly come as good news
not only for people concerned about the carbon footprint that comes
with importing parts from Korea, but for the state of Alabama and
even our county's overall unemployment rate. For to successfully
boost engine production by 300,000 units annually, the Alabama
plant will need to create an estimated 214 new jobs!Curious to

The ICOTY (International Car of the Year) jury convened at
the North American International Auto Show to determine Car- and
Truck of the Year winners. Comprised of 12 nationally-renowned
automotive journalists, the jury selected the 2011 Hyundai Sonata
as the most emotionally compelling car for the new model year. The

These numbers, experts speculate, suggest buyers

accounted for nearly 1,783 vehicles, an increase of 113 cars.

Hyundai Steals the Spotlight at the Academy Awards

While hundreds of veteran actors and today's shining starlets
graced the infamous Red Carpet at this year's Academy Awards, there
was only one automaker in the spotlight during the event -
none-other than Hyundai. The model that really stole the spotlight
was the Elantra winner of the ALG Residual Value Awards and
iSeeCars' Top Small Sedan 2011 designation. It should also be noted
that this isn't the first time Hyundai has dominated the Academy
Awards. This actually marks the Korean automaker's
third-consecutive year as the event's exclusive automotive sponsor.
Befittingly, the Elantra was featured in one of this year's ads,
wearing Red Allure. And no, the Japanese automaker did not call up
Sandra Bullock or Jennifer Lawrence to see what they'd be wearing
first. In total, nine Hyundai advertisements aired before and during
the 83rd Academy Awards. All available to watch on YouTube, they
are:'Drawing Board' (mentioned above), featuring the
Elantra'Childhood', featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Deprogramming',
featuring the Hyundai Elantra'Greatest Luxury', featuring the
Hyundai Genesis'Good Things Come in Threes', highlighting Hyundai's
powertrains'Comfy Home', featuring the Hyundai Equus'Family',
featuring the Sonata'Anachronostic City', featuring the Hyundai
Sonata Hybrid'iPad', highlighting the Hyundai Equus' application of
the iPad as the car's user manualIf you would like to learn more
about any of Hyundai's above, please visit World Hyundai Matteson.
We'd be happy to share their specs and set up a test drive.

Hyundai Betting on New Elantra

The Hyundai Sonata has already seen sales reach almost
200,000 this year. It's up 65% for the year, according to statistic
source Autodata. Hyundai thinks their Elantra compact could see
similar growth. The new Elantra contains a 148-horsepower engine and
six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, which achieve 40
miles per gallon in highway driving, 17% over the previous model.
Its new look offers some of the greatest aerodynamics in the
segment."The Elantra, for a short time, will be considered one of
the best-in-class small cars," says George Peterson of AutoPacific,
one of those who drove the Elantra last week at a Hyundai-sponsored
event. "The Elantra is probably top of the heap."Even though it's
considered a compact, Elantra is classed as a 'midsize' by the
Environmental Protection Agency. The new version has a wheelbase 2
inches longer than the outgoing model, and is an inch longer
overall. Nearly half of the compact-car buyers are downsizing from
larger cars, in search for better gas mileage, says Brandon
Ramirez, Hyundai's product planning manager. The new Elantra is
currently at showrooms nationwide. More than 100,000 will be sold
next year, predicts Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik.
Starting price for a 2011 Hyundai Elantra is $14,830, plus $720
shipping.Test drive one today at World Hyundai of Matteson.
